Agate forms in nodules, or what started out as gas ‘bubbles’ that get trapped in molten magma as it cools. It comes in all sizes, from tiny little pebbles to specimens measured in feet in diameter, and agate comes in all colors, and has a banded, shell-like appearance of concentric bands that can run from nearly transparent to opaque, and it can sometimes contain opal, and many types of crystals.
The title Specimen crystals signify a particular class of mineral that is both rare and collectible. They are untouched, meaning most of the time unpolished with raw look and feel. Natural mineral specimens and crystals are found in the environment in their natural state and collected off the surface of the ground or are obtained through physical digging and mining.
